| The
English term “pop-up” established itself as the term
used in Germany to colourfully describe this special book form Pop-up
books’ fascination lies in their ability to mechanically transform
a book’s pages into a three dimensional scene over and over
again.
Kubasta created more than one hundred Pop-up book masterpieces in various forms and utilizing a range of techniques. Not only is the number of published works to be marvelled but also their thematic range and the richness of their creativity are even today without peer. The catalogue of this exhibition provides an almost complete overview of Vojtech Kubasta’s Pop-up artistry. |
